like i predicted in my last post…tuesdays are just plain long.  started off early at 8 with discussion at math.  and then psych at 9:30 :D.  i came back to the dorms to eat lunch and then headed back over to lab.  i thought it was going to be an easy lab…but turned out printed to wrong lab and did the wrong flow chart as well @_@. talk about bad luckk…HAHAHA i was so bummed and what not so it made lab a lot harder to do XD but anyways i finished and then headed back to the room since jenny didnt need my lab apron.  i got back and rested a bit before going to michelle’s to hangout with people :D which was lots and lots of fun.  always a fun time to hangout with my sisters :D  after that a bunch of us went to go to the prayer meeting for the tim be told concert.  i cant believe the day was coming…i mean i was remember when outreach team was just thinking of it as an idea…but now it was coming true! of course thanks to God.  he really does provide and i couldnt wait to to see new faces and of course tim be told :]  got into big groups and got to pray with my brothers and sisters :].  i couldnt wait to see the concert come true.  then after, a bunch of us hung out, outside and watched the boys wrestle…haha but jenny michellechan and jlo and i were hungry so we decided to go get some food from wendy’s and get the 1 dollar frostie thing for the keycahin.  decent food and fun talking with everyone :].  after the meeting i got to go back to work and then sleep.  

It’s monday again.  so much to do today!! i went through my usual spew of classes.  ah jei was with me and i brought my laptop so then i got to take some pictures during chem HAHA.  she makes my classes so much more bearable :P.  after my line of classes, i had to go back to the medical center for my second TB Shot.  and if you’ve read my trip last week, i guess u can say i had issues getting to the medical center XD.  soo i this time i made sure not to turn in the wrong parking structure :D i turned into the right one…found the correct building too :D.  i made good time and lady did my tb test again.  i had issues with my skin bubbling and what not LOL the nurse wasnt sure what to do but then left it so that i could leave.  i guess it worked out well.  i finished and headed back to campus :] no traffic as usual and got back in good time :D

i went back to the room and got some work done before going to dinner with the freshman :] we all decided to go to mesa where we discussed frosh night stuff and got to celebrate Phil’s birthday with cake :D.  it’s always nice to fellowship with my fellow freshman and we got a lot done during that meeting :D.  that’s pretty much all that happened that day…i went back after dinner to do some work.  got a lot done :D not looking forward to tomorrow…tuesdays are such long days…but hopefully with God’s strength i can get through it :D  

today’s such a big dayyyyy.  got to go to church and then it’s SISTER’S APPRECIATION!!! my morning started off with breakfast with tim!~ we ate at mesa and waited for Papa D to come :] after we went to berean and had a good message :].  what really got me was this verse…”we love because we were loved first” 1 John 4:19.  God’s love is…unspeakably amazing.  it still stumps me…how he can love sinners like us to the point of crushing his own son so that we can live up to his standards.  if it weren’t for his love, we would be go deeper and deeper into sin.  so being the just and loving God he is, we were saved through Jesus Christ.  With all this love, i feel like we need to reflect that love, in all aspects of our lives.  love others in the body of christ and those outside of it as well :).  be the example of the love that God showed us in our darkest times.  and recently ( i know i’ve been writing this late) but i feel like God’s given me the opportunity to show that kind of love.  and i cant wait to see through it :] so after berean, we went back and got to eat lunch.  most boys went to help out with sister’s appreciation but nate took me sam and catherine and phil back to mesa to drop sam off and then we went to go eat at pippin with katie and syd + berean friends :D.  had a good lunchhh which was breakfast themed XD i had my omelete which as made very strangely but still tasty nonetheless :D after a big brunch…nate took the mesa kids back and then i did some work before having to go round up some freshman girls to go get ready at tiff’s!

^—this is my small group :) i cant wait to continue to grow with them :D they never stop encouraging me<3 love them so muchhh.  

first i went to go get the middle kids and jenny and dropped them off at norte.  then i went back to get elaine and then we parked at norte and went to tiff’s appt :D first we got katie to do her makeup and hair…SO GOOD :D haha she’s so prettyyyy hehe.  and then i changed into a summer dress with a white bandana :] i finally got a call from em so i drove (yes in my dress and bandana) to vdc to go get her and bring her to norte :D.  after getting ready, nate lo and phil yu were waiting for us to bring us to CV :D we werent the first to arrive but we got to loiter a bit outside.  it was great seeing all the sister’s together…everyone came looking WONDERFUL whether it be crazy in their costumes, or in dresses…everyone looked amazing :].  finally the boys lead us in and we got to eat dinner.  they boys made salmon with capers and then a salad with a wonderful vinagrette and candied walnuts along with this yummy garlic bread.  soooo gooddd :D everything was cooked perfectly.  i couldnt have asked for a better meal ;] after dinner we got to play a taboo like game for guessing the boys.  haha it was fun game…even though i got made fun of @_@.  but it’s okk :] good laugh eh? we got to do some worship and also devos from nate and casey both which i enjoyed very muchh.  they were so sincere and encouraging through their words that i couldnt help but smile to myself and thank the Lord soooo much for the brother’s i have.  and i’m so grateful for each and every one of them.  we also got to see a video that the brothers made…OMYGOSH it was soooo good. so muh funn :] and it made me feel just as appreciated as everything else they did for the night.  the rest of the night was for pictures and just mingling with others :] lots of good pictures and good time with everyone.  then the night was coming to a close and they boys took us back to norte and then i took the mesa kids back in my car :] such an amazing day :D.  full of love from my brothers and more evidence of how much God provides.  the brothers really did show us so much love that it still gets to me XD thank you brothers for everything you’ve done.  love you all :] 

SATURDAYYY :] today’s my nice relaxing day! i got to spend time with my older brother nate kwok!!! so first the day started off early..my dad came out to irvine to get some paperwork to me and get some paperwork about immunizations and what not.  so then since i was up, i decided to do some more work and then got to eat lunch with nate at A&J.  we ordered the rice rolls with the bread and pork inside and then we also ate wonton with this sweet spicy vinegar sauce :D we discussed what we should do for the sister’s appreciation the next day…costume wise.  so we decided to go out and look for stuff AFTER we went out to go get rainbow sandals for me and other friends :D.  it was a good drive down to the factory, but definitely such a beautiful day so after getting the sandals, we stopped spontaneously at this beach park.  so much fun to just see the water, to see the happy kids running around, and just admire God’s creation :].  we met a nice couple that were telling us about whale boats and we got to play on the playground XD so we stayed there for a little bit before heading back to irvine, but stopping by at sprinkle’s cupcake since i’ve never gone there before.  we got there and as usual i guess, there was a line coming out of the store XD.  we decided to get the most popular red velvet and then a black and white cupcake as well :] both were absolutely AMAZING. so so good…LOL but at the same time i could feel my arteries clogging HAHAHA. anyweiz…after sprinkles, we went to target and michael’s to help me with dressing as ellie from UP XD dont you worry, i’ll tell you all about sister’s appreciation in the next post XD…we spent a couple hours doing that and then headed over to the dollar theater to find 3D glasses for nate to wear as mr. fredrickson :D and the nice guy at the front just gave it to us since we didnt want to watch the movie…we just wanted to glasses XD.  so i got a kids pair and a adult size both lookin’ pretty goofy on me XD.  so we got those, and i was going to head back to my dorm to do some work and what not…but turned out that some aacf kids were doing krn bbq and we decided to join them :D sooooooo good ^__^.  of course we smelled like…well krn bbq but it’s always a nice time to fellowship with my aacf family.  

we ate for a good few hours and then headed over to rite aid to just shop around and i think michelle rachel, me and some of the boys had so much fun smelling different shampoos and lotions and what not XD.  after that we headed over to karina’s place to watch movies…but lo and behold they had a surprise for us…well not exactly for us…but we got to it first LOL.  so it was dark in the appt…and they had a saw clip on the TV and then all of a sudden i saw michelle li towards the side in a night gown thing…and with her hair over her face with an eerie light…and when i saw i SCREAMED @_@ HAHAHA it wasnt even for me *sighz* we ended up trying to scare ramon and phil but…it didnt work out so well…HAHAH so the only person they got was the person that it wasnt meant for XD but i’m glad people had some fun but still…scary stuff HAHA.  i left early because it was a long day and i went back to sleep after such a great day with aacf people the entire time :).    

TGIF! week 3 was a good week :] but i’m glad it’s over LOL.  today wasnt that eventful.  i went to my classes like normal and then i went to go eat lunch with Tiff!!! i was so excited HAHAHA since i havnt met up with her all year :] so we got in line at bwine and turns out there was CLAM CHOWDER!!! YAYYY haha.  we got to talk and catch up over lots of good food but too bad it had to end so we walked to our next classes, almost having to in the rain but it stopped as we walked…PHEW!.  but then too bad i had food coma and literally knocked out in anthro @_@ aigoo…that clam chowder just put me straight to sleep.  so after class, victoria and i headed over to the student center where we saw the lunch crew kids.  we watched them and i played monopoly deal (apparently i’m brutal and mean in this game T__T) HAHA but anyweiz and of course harro buddy had lots of fun taking pictures and what not XD so funny.  after, we had to go and i went back to my room to do some work.  but instead i knocked out @_@ after a little while and slept straight through dinner HAHA.  and too bad we werent going to play mahjong since everyone was busy and elsa was getting sick :[.  but luckily without mahjong night…i got LOTS of work done so that i could hangout with nate the next day :] i felt so productive even with a good nap xD so that was really nice.  i guess that’s it for this entry…sorry it’s so short and a little lame…but it was a great day nonetheless :].  

today was kinda gloomy and cold.  woke up early since i had to go to discussion at 8…for a MATH QUIZ!~ first one yet…and as i took it…it wasnt so badd.  i was expecting a lot worse…but i wasnt sure XD HAHA…after the quiz, i went to psych only to KNOCK OUT while waiting half an hour for class to start.  it wasnt until a good 15 minutes i was awake again with my brain functioning XD LOL.  andjust my luck she kept showing videos with lights turned off @_@ omygosh HAHA…oh the temptation to fall straight asleep >.<.  but finally after an hour and a half, i went down to go to mesa and eat lunch :].  food was mehh and then had to head back to chem discussions.  lady was kinda scary at first, but i think she’s really good :] learned quite a bit in just that discussion :D so i’m happy with that! after class…i headed back to the room to do work and then take a nap before dinner, but then sam and jenny came up with an awesome idea to go surprise casey on his birthday :D so an hour before dinner, jenny and i drove to albertsons to choose a cake.  we saw a bunch of normal ones…and then we saw a COOKIE MONSTER CAKE! :D HAHAHA after much debating and texting sam…we decided to get the cookie monster one.  

then we headed back to drop it off at elsa’s XD.  had some trouble getting in…but finally did and then headed back to park the car. as we parked the car…it started to rainnnn ackkkkkk.  along the way…we saw emily and beat XD and then when we got to bwine…it was sooooo collddd HAHA.  didnt start eating until like 6:20ish HAHA as usual :D and then had a good time catching up and eating together with my fellow freshman brothers and sisters.  we all headed in the rain towards elsa’s appt and then got to go over James 2:1-13.  i really like going over the text and having some questions from a study guide-like thing :].  really nice :D.  as for the cross centered life book, i think i’m just going to read the rest of it on my own LOL.  after the small group, the girls headed over to the guys appt with the cake and had a little trouble getting into the apartment but still got in with candles and all :D.  haha we all sang and then got to eat cake that made our tongue BLUE hehe XD but soon we had to go meet for brother’s appreciation stuff :D i wont/cant say anymore after that HAHA as much as i want to XD.it’s gonna be EPIC :] hheehe.  another long day coming to a close :P….tgif for sure LOL.  

So it’s wednesday again :] and i had my usual string of classes.  chem in the morning and then math and then anthro.  of course my ah jei got to sit with me through it all :] and always makes it so much more bearable XD.  after classes i went back to the dorm to read and do work, only to see how fast time passes by and it was time for LARGE GROUP! this week we had a speaker, Eugene Ho.  I think the words i can use to describe his message…was inspiring hope.  and for Christians, the greatest story if i may use that word, of hope is Christ dying on the cross for us.  Because Jesus willingly came down from the heavens to be at our level, take our sins as his so that we can meet that standard that God calls us to be.  If Jesus Christ did that unspeakably amazing deed for us, out of his love and compassion for us all, how can we not have hope when we face our petty trials and issues that we face.  God puts us through trials and hardships to transform us from a block of marble into a michaelangelo’s david….a masterpiece in his eyes; all of us unique in our own ways.  the trials and hardships are there to transform our hearts as well, transform us to be more sanctified.  and during those hardships, to be in perspective, the problems we face are nothing compared to what Christ did for us, and the hope we have in that.  we cant stay fixed on the problem, but rather look forward,. we need to be joyful when all the suffering and trials come, because we see the eternal picture, that all of this brings God the eternal glory he deserves.  It’s going to be hard, yes, but keep your eyes on eternal happiness in praising God, keep your eyes on heaven because that’s eternal.  for some encouragement through rough times 

And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. 1Peter 5:10

so after the message, we ended early so i was able to chitter chatter with lots of people.  jenny and i got to pass out more cards, we got to talk with everyone and then i decided to help out with driving people to our afterevent…ALERTO’S.  so as i was driving for the first time, i got a little nervous since it was my first time driving aacf kids, and then when i was getting onto the 73…i was turning and my foot missed the brake…so we kinda swerved a bit but i think i scarred the boys in the back of my car for life @_@ aiyahh…i eventually got them all there safely and then had my much anticipated pollo asado fries :] mmmmm nom nom for sure.  got to meet david liu and just have some good fellowshipping time with my aacf family :].  we stayed out pretty late and then i drove diana and christine back to the dorms without much trouble :] an awesome ending to an awesome day :]

This tuesday was actually better than last tuesday at least at an academic level XD.  So i woke up early to go to my 8am class XD…all went well until i went to class in psych. MANN i keep sleeping in the middle @_@….like i can stay alert for te first half an hour…then i kinda doze for a good 20 minutes…and then the last half an hour or so i’m back on track @_@ akf;adkfafkj LOL.  it’s just not cool having a 8am discussion T__T…but oh well i got most of the stuff down atleast XD.  then after psych i went back to mesa to catch lunch with jenny and ate nom nom food at mesa…or atleast somehwat nom nom HAHA.  good filling lunch and i came back to the room only to have to get ready for my lab @_@.  got my labgoogles, my prelab/flowchart, and apron and left for rowland hall.  got there a bit early and got to chat with ah jei a little bit before going in :] and i think for me, that always helps me calm myself.  XD iono mayb it’s psychological too LOL.  so we went in and my partner and i so happened to be in sync :D.  everything went smoothly and we finished pretty early :D which was nice since last lab wasnt so great HAHA.  then i hopped onto the shuttle to get to the albertson’s stop and to drop off the apron and goggles for jenny.  i got to eat some of billy’s yummy food which included kimchi pancakes :D.  and that was nom nom worthy forsure :] hitched a ride to rowland hall where made my way back to mesa and then as i was walking i got a call from chowfan (michelle chan!) and thenn i was looking at the name and i answered HAHA to turn around to see her behind me XD we walked until CV area and then split so i could go down to mesa.  i got back and did major work until jenny got back so we can go to late night :D that night they had these taquitos…so good LOL. iono why…maybe i was so hungry…but still nom nom for sure. we got back only to stay a little longer and then crash :].  cant wait for tomorrow thooo…wednesday are always good :D.    

SUCH A CRAZY MONDAY…LOL…my goodness.  so it started normally, i went to my classes bumped into a lot of people like nate, tiff, katy…good stuff :D.  after class ended in anthro disc (to just my luck ran late)…i raced back to mesa (all the way from dbh) and stopped by the mail box…apparently i got a package and i didnt even go back to the room cuz i was running late.  I needed to get to UCI Medical Center Occupational Health Office by 4:00pm and it was already past 3 @_@.  so i hopped into my car…got my google map…and raced towards orange area.  MANN the traffic was nasty…and nasty people driving too…i guess everyone wanted to go home?? goodness…so i almost missed the 405 going to the 55 and also the 107b exit on chapman @_@.  LOL…but praise the lord i was able to get to the area safely :].  so i turned onto to Dawn Way where the email said that the visitor parking structure was…and when i turned into the street…i saw two parking structures O_O…LOL.  and i thought…oh wow…HAHA…so i decided to choose the one closest to me and i turned in…racing around the parking structure to find a spot.  at the time, i didnt notice, but the cars and the structure itself didnt feel right…like i diddnt expect it to be a parking structure for medical centers.  but i ignored my inner voice and just parked and ran out of the parking structure keep in mind it’s now 3:50 LOL. and i had 10 minutes to find the occupational health office.  but when i ran out…i looked and saw SOOO MANY COPS. i was like whaa?!??! and then i saw a little sign that said “juvenille court house” and i went omg…LOL…i felt like everyone just stared down out at me like a hawk @_@…so scarryyyyy.  i was just a lost little asian girl carrying her turtle backpack trying to find the medical center.  as i was freaking out…i turned to my left…and then saw…OOHHH something thought sounded medical so i ran towards it trying to get out of that area as FAST AS POSSIBLE.  and then i ran to the nearest map and finally found thebuilding. HAHA…i ran into it and then panting told the lady what i was there for. and then she gave me all these forms to sign…i sat down looked at the clock it was 3:59…PRAISE THE LORD LOL…crazy…so i filled everything out and then waited for a nurse to become available.  we then went over what i needed to get vaccinated for (apparently i was missing stuff) and then she was like okk time to do the first tb test.  and i said okk…and then i looked away as she poked me…but then apparently i did not have a bubble come up…and she said..”hmm…no bubble came up..should i do it again?” and i just looked at her like O_O omgosh…HAHAHA but nope she didnt do it again :] i just have to come back monday and wednesday of next week to finish it all up :].  so after i finished…i went back to the scary parking lot to get out of there and as i drove up to the parking tenant lady…she just looked at me and gave like a O_o expression HAHA.  i just smiled and said have a good day! but mehhh i dont think she said anything back XD afterr…no traffic whatsoever so i got back to mesa in 15 minutes.  and i chattted with jenny until i went over to the 433 berkeley residence for a family outing :D.  

so katie jenny and i headed towards in n out for a much needed family hangout :] and then as we were walking through utc…grandma elsa tried to be all sneaky hehehe but ofcourse turtle was more ninja ;P anyweiz…we got there and then i had myself a cheese burger with WHOLE GRILLED ONIONS….soooo goood lol.  we ate to our content and then headed to the candy shop where katie got herself some sour belts :D om nom nom ^__^ hehe.  and soon after we headed back to the appartment to watch a movie :] but before thenn…we ended up taking a bunch of family pictures on katie’s mac XD…so much funn hehe with the funny faces and of course just being with jenny katie and elsa XD.  after that, we decided to watch lion king!!! CLASSIC AMAZING MOVIE :] disney never fails to make me smile :D after the movie, jenny and i headed back…fully and happy to be able to spend time with our family :} <3  crazy crazy day but all worth it for sure :]  

 

by now i think you’ve probably gotten used to me saying this…but sunday’s are always great days for me :].  in the morning i woke up and got ready for petey coming to get me and tim :D turned out to be ramon taking a lot of people LOL.  So today during the message…we concentrated on 1Thessalonians 4:1-12.  This week, we somewhat continued the message from a couple weeks back.  one of the verses he emphasized first was verse 3, basically as he summed it up, justification through sanctification.  I would assume it is the same for every Christian. To be more holy, and set apart form the rest of the world; to not conform to the world and it’s worldly views, but to be transformed by the world of God.  And from there be transformed from just knowing about God to actually knowing God on a personal level.  I guess the latter part is the bulk of our Christian lives.  As for me, i’m getting there.  Still towards the end of just knowing who God is, but like all things, spending time with the person you want to get to know, is the best way to get to know them.  Hopefully I can continue to hear from Him, whether be it from scripture, from messages, from prayer etc.  and just continue to grow more in love with him.  I cant wait until I can honestly say that I have a personal connection and loyalty to him.  I want to be able to love God with all my heart as he loves all of us.  But, i know all this takes time and effort.  There’s gonna be trials and all sorts of things to deter me away from that personal relationship…but I know all this will make me even stronger and more in love with Him :]

after Berean we all headed to mickey D’s where i got my much anticipated chicken nuggets and fries :D. hehe. SOOO GOOD…guilty pleasure much?? nom nom worthy for sure.  and then i also tried the cinnamon bite thing LOL…iono but it felt like diabetes in a bite…yet…soooo good at the same time @_@ HAHA syd:” gotta dip and get as much sugar as possible!!” LOL.  but anyweiz…i decided today would be the day i ate my first mcflurry  so katie and i went up to the counter and got myself a oreo mcflurry.  katie was there cuz she wanted to see how it was made…but then that guy was too fast @_@ and we both missed it LOL.  anyweiz i got my mini mcflurry and then had a bite of it…oh mannnn so good….iono why i havnt had it before…but still :] my eyes have opened to the yummyness of mcflurries.  HAHA after lunch at mickey D’s harro buddy drove us back to mesa where i showed her my car LOL…white nissan sentra XD.  which i will be needing to drive @_@ all the way to the medical center XD.  anyweiz…i got back to my room to do hw and what not..finish my lab….do a bunch of wiley and webworks.  and then…i took a small nap and planned to eat dinner…but i wasnt hungry after eating so much mcdonald’s so i havnt eaten yet…but now i’m hungry @_@ ughhh LOL….i shall wait until tomorrow! XD.  but as i was about to sleep…i checked my email again before going to bed…and then saw an email from the wiley TA…and it said…”if you had done the wiley assignments before this email, it has been erased since we had to fix due dates”…i was left speechless for a good 2 minutes.  i had just finished a bunch of nasty wiley assignments literally less than half an hour ago..and it took a good 1.5-2hours and only to get an email saying that it was erased and that i had to do it over again to get credit…*sighz* that’s just evil LOL.  bad luck for sure…i guess i just gotta look at this as…more practice for me…yipee…haha there was sarcasm in it XD.  after getting that unfortunate email, it was time to go to bed and wake up early for classes tomorrow and a super long day ahead @_@.
